Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BoardSnap, the iOS app and related services operated by Jack Brandt (“BoardSnap,” “we,” “us”). By installing, opening, or using BoardSnap you agree to these Terms.
Apple Standard EULA also applies. BoardSnap is licensed to you in accordance with Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. The terms below supplement, but do not replace, that EULA. Where they conflict, Apple’s EULA controls for App Store distribution.
1. The Service
BoardSnap captures whiteboard photos, transcribes them with AI, generates summaries and action items, and lets you chat with your captured boards inside Projects. The free tier includes a limited number of projects, boards, and AI chat messages. BoardSnap Pro removes those limits via subscription or one-time purchase.
2. Your Account
You may sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google, or a magic-link email. You are responsible for the activity on your account. We do not store passwords. To delete your account, open Settings → Account → Delete Account; this permanently removes your boards, projects, and chats.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Capture content you do not have the right to capture (someone else’s confidential whiteboard, copyrighted material you have no permission to record, etc.).
- Use BoardSnap to harass, defame, infringe, or break the law.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or systematically extract our service.
- Submit prompts or content that violate Anthropic’s Acceptable Use Policy, since AI processing is performed by Anthropic.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
BoardSnap Pro is sold via Apple’s In-App Purchase system. The following plans are offered:
- BoardSnap Pro Monthly — $9.99 USD per month, auto-renewing.
- BoardSnap Pro Annual — $69.99 USD per year, auto-renewing (~42% savings vs. monthly).
- BoardSnap Pro Lifetime — $149.99 USD, one-time purchase.
Auto-renewal. Your monthly or annual subscription will automatically renew at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
Managing and canceling. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iOS device, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.
Lifetime purchase. Lifetime is a one-time, non-refundable (subject to Apple’s policy) purchase that grants Pro features for the lifetime of your BoardSnap account. It does not transfer between Apple IDs.
Free trial. Any free trial offered will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends. Unused trial time is forfeited if you start a paid plan.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices. If we do, you will be notified before the change takes effect and given the option to cancel before the next billing period.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the photos, text, and other content you put into BoardSnap. By using the service you grant us a limited, worldwide license to store, process, and display your content for the purpose of providing the app to you. We do not sell your content. AI processing is performed by Anthropic per their privacy policy; Anthropic does not use your content to train their models.
6. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7. Intellectual Property
BoardSnap, its name, logo, and the app code are owned by Jack Brandt. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to Apple’s Standard EULA and these Terms.
8. Termination
You may stop using BoardSnap at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that puts other users, our infrastructure, or our AI providers at risk.
9. Disclaimers
BoardSnap is provided “as is.” AI-generated summaries, action items, and chat responses can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it for decisions. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoardSnap and Jack Brandt are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app banner and/or email. Continued use of the service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oakland County, Michigan, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring suit in your local jurisdiction.
